There have been several new developments during 2006-2008. Most of these relate to soft contact lenses and the increasing availability of complex designs in the new 'superpermeable' silicone hydrogel materials. There have also been various new designs of hard lenses for orthokeratology which is now sometimes referred to as OVC (overnight vision correction).
